Hello Jack Benny Parents/Guardians,
I hope during our “new normal” you have found opportune ways to connect with family and friends.
As you are most likely aware, the Governor has made the difficult decision to suspend school for the 19-20 academic school year. To prepare for our school transition closer, please read the guidelines/ procedures listed below to follow. The procedures will be important to keep all persons safe.
Locker Belonging pick up
Due to the school being closed and an effort to keep everyone safe and healthy during the pandemic, students will not be allowed back into the building at this time. Every student's locker has been emptied out and placed into a bag by our building custodians. We are asking families to pick up 6th grade students' locker belonging on Tuesday April 28, 7th grade students Wednesday April 29, and 8th grade students April 30th from 8am until 2:15 pm.
--Parents we are asking that you enter on Yeoman Street and turn down service drive and line up your car on the West side of the building (same procedure as student drop off in the morning).
--Remain in your car and someone will assist you by (6 feet away) asking for your students locker number. Please ask your child(ren) their locker number to help expedite the process.
--Staff will bring your child(ren)'s personal belongings to the car. If you don't remember their locker number someone will look up the number.
Refunds for field trips (Springfield and Washington D.C.)
The district is working on a processing system to refund all field trips that were scheduled prior to the pandemic, in which a payment was made by parents. Communication with guidelines as to how parents will receive reimbursement will be coming in the near future.
Sincerely,
Issac L. Kirkwood
