Cell Phone Policy
All middle schools in the district will be following a strict cell phone procedure this year. Cell phones are not allowed in classrooms or hallways at any time during the school day. Phones must remain off and stored in lockers.
This policy is designed to help students stay focused on learning and support the development of strong social skills. We ask for your partnership in reinforcing this expectation with your student at home.
Tips for a Strong Start: What You Can Do This Week
To help your child start the school year confident and prepared, here are a few simple steps you can take this week:
- Establish a school-year bedtime and wake-up routine so your student is well-rested and ready to learn. School starts at 7:20 AM!!
- Practice the route to school or the bus stop so your student feels confident and safe on day one.
- Organize school supplies and pack a backpack together to build excitement and reduce stress.
- Talk about goals and expectationsโdiscuss what success looks like in middle school both socially and academically.
- Encourage some light reading or review of math problems from last school year to help them re-engage with their learning mindset.
- Talk about the new cell phone expectations and help your student plan how theyโll stay focused throughout the school day without their phone.
We canโt wait to partner with you and your student for a fantastic year ahead! If you have any questions, please donโt hesitate to call our main office.
See you soon!
